Cookie policy

Every cookie this site sets, what it does, and how to block it. There are not many.

Last updated 13 August 2026

Short version: we use a handful of cookies to count visits and measure ads. None of them are needed to browse the site, and you can block the lot in your browser without breaking anything.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device so it can recognise your browser later. Similar tools do the same job under different names: pixels, local storage and device identifiers. Where we say "cookies" on this page, we mean all of them.

What we use them for

TypeWhat it doesSet by
Strictly necessaryKeeps the site working, including basic security and load balancing. These cannot be turned off from our side.Vercel
AnalyticsCounts page views, scroll depth and which sections people read, so we know which parts of the page are working. Reported in aggregate.Vercel Analytics
AdvertisingMeasures whether an ad led to a waitlist signup, and lets us show ads to people who have visited the site.Meta Pixel

We do not use cookies to build a profile of your browsing across unrelated websites, beyond what the Meta Pixel does for ad measurement.

How to turn them off

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies:

  • Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies.
  • Safari: Settings, then Privacy, then Prevent cross-site tracking.
  • Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Enhanced Tracking Protection.
  • Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.

You can also opt out of personalised advertising in your Meta ad preferences, and use the Your Online Choices tool at youronlinechoices.com.au.

Blocking analytics and advertising cookies does not change anything you can see or do on this site.

Do Not Track

Browsers send a Do Not Track signal inconsistently and there is no agreed standard for honouring it, so we do not rely on it. Use the browser controls above instead.

Changes to this policy

If we add a tool that sets cookies, we will list it here and update the date at the top.
